The Soap Rebatcher

Rebatching soap is great for those who do not want to expose themselves to lye, for making a harder more milled soap, and/or just an easy fast method for those who have tons of scraps from natural soap making.  Author Deborah Dolen sets out her favorite method for making rebatched soap-the largest crock pot you can find, and lots of heat, as well as recipes for great hard soap combinations.  Recipes include lemon-sage Kitchen deodorizer bar, aloe and primrose toning facial soap, corn meal and Echinacea facial scrub bar, Orange Blossom Soap, Pine Tar Healing Medicinal Soap, Rosemary and Peppermint Thinning Hair rescue soap bar, Shangri-La Laundry soap bar, Gardener’s soap (natural insect control) Gardener’s hand soap, Veggie wash, sensual soaps, and an oil attributes chart created by Deborah Dolen.  About the Author

Deborah Dolen, author of the Soap Rebatched points out that rebatching is also great for scent retention whether you are using essential oils or fragrance oils.  For example, Bulgarian Lavender essential oil retains its scent throw and attributes far more in the rebatch method than if it were all poured into the lye process.  Deborah Dolen feels the retention of scent is increased threefold and very advantageous for those wanting hard scented bars that last.

Although Deborah Dolen’s favorite method of rebatching soap is the crock pot method, she also teaches how to use the microwave method and oven method.

Other books by Deborah Dolen

Previous Mabel White DIY formula books, written by Deborah Dolen include The Bathroom Chemist and The Self Apothecary, and The Beekeepers Digest are recipe, technique and formula heavy, offering a broad creative range. They are also pretty much a prerequisite if you are new to making your own toiletries, where The London Apothecary formulatory is more advanced, having a newer and definite focus on perfected techniques of making the actual base balm, natural wax jelly, lotion, and truly hard bath bombs.  In part due to newer methods discovered during 2004 and 2005.  We know you will enjoy this book and it will be a basis of your library!  Have fun!
